It’s no secret that the food service industry has been hit hard by the pandemic since spring 2020. Restaurants went from open to closed, with one opening, but with restrictions, takeout only and everything in between.
Many restaurants in Western New York remained closed after they reopened, and one of those restaurants is finally reopening to the public after a long hiatus.
The Bijou Grille on Main Street in Buffalo will finally reopen this Friday after having closed since the pandemic started, so WGRZ.
The Bijou Grille is also celebrating its 30th anniversary this autumn and has been newly renovated. Shea’s Performing Arts Center will also reopen on Friday night, and Bijou Grille is a popular spot for those who go to the shows at Shea’s.
Bijou Grille says they were able to fill available positions that are needed before the reopening. Restaurants everywhere are struggling with Shorts staff and even had to close in extreme circumstances, but Bijou Grille was able to bypass this obstacle.
It’s easy to forget that some stores were closed until this point or recently because of the pandemic, but it’s great to see Bijou Grille reopen in a historic part of Downtown Buffalo that has a return to normal becomes Shea’s Performing Arts Center.
It should be a fun time down there in the fall.
